We have been working on an idea that lets us control the drive shaft on our Brownies w/ a servomotor and a PC using off the shelf surplus components. By removing the change gear stud and subsituting a servomotor w/ a gear on it to engage the driveshaft we control speed and direction of cams and dog drums. Essentially controlling the "information" a Brownie needs to run. It has limits but it also can fine tune thread feeds, pause to break chips, allow for programable pull outs on drills, ease feeds on trouble tools only and on boxtools until the rollers are engaged, slow feed at part cutoff for less c.o. tits, count up, stop and beep for inspection, etc. it gives any cam off the wall a more wide range of uses.
it also allows more freedom for imagination in getting out of a predicament that may otherwise cost more time and effort. for more insight and videos visit our Myspace.com sight at : http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.channel&ChannelID=398484334
