I heard that brass rod dropped from $2.22 Per Pound to 1.56. Scrap fell from $1.90 to $1.08 a pound. I understand that there is a lot of cheap Chinese brass available, but the question is who do you sell the scrap to. What are dealers paying for borings? Does it pay to buy the foreign rod without a guaranteed scrap buying source.
Not the same problem for steel because the scrap has virtually no value..
