I HEAR THAT HAAS IS LISTENING TO PRESENTATIONS MAY8 FOR THE CHICAGO TERRITORY. STAR IS LINING UP NEW DISTRIBUTION AND SMARTING FROM THE BEATING ARTHUR GAVE THEM. CHAD ARTHUR WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT GET ANOTHER CHANCE WITH STAR AND WITH THE NEW MANAGEMENT AT DOOSAN HE ALMOST CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE WELCOMED BACK UNDER A NEW NAME. SUPPOSEDLY CHAD ALIENATED A LOT OF HIS SALES PEOPLE SO PUTTING HUMPTY DUMPTY TOGETHER AGAIN WILL BE HARD.

There is absolutely no way any Haas machine can be "shut down" remotely. All machines are shipped with a code that is timed. As the time counts down, the machine will alert the operator to call the dealer. The dealer will provide the code to continue operation. As posted above, all the customer needs to do is call HFO Midwest or Haas and the code will be provided. This was one of many great Haas inovations and has many more uses than just the obvious.

I talked to Guy Williams at Haas and Jeff Boulden from Robert E Morris which owns HFOMidwest which is handling service for Haas in Arthur's territory. The alarm in question is 144 and anybody who has a problem should contact HFOMidwest or Haas in Oxnard and they will resolve it. They now have two vans in Chicago.

Heard that there was a big housecleaning at Doosan (Daewoo) also an Arthur staple. Is there a connection with the Arthur collapse?

We had one, paid for. The dealer forgot to send the code that we could put in. The machine stopped when the time set expired. The dealer sent the code when we called.

Hello all: HFO Midwest - Northern Illinois is now handling parts and service support for Haas customers in Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. Haas customers should contact them at http://www.hfochicago.com or by calling 877-440-HAAS.

I don't have an answer for this, but I do have a Haas machine. Paid for.
But how could a code in the controller be activated by remote ?
Just curious.

I am hearing that Haas machines sold by Arthur Machinery in Chicago are stopping in the field because Arthur did not pay Haas for the machines before their Chapter 11 filing on April 2nd. Evidently Haas Automation puts a code in their new machines which allows them to shut down the control by remote, The customer is caught in the middle between Haas and Arthur. Does anyone have experience with this problem and have a suggestion for extricating themselves from this box?
