I have been using cam for programming since 1984, and I agree with the above that the bob cad system is not very good.
The easiest software I have seen lately is feature cam. It is very simple for beginers and can grow up to 5 axis milling.

I am a total beginner to CNC. I have worked with Auto cad from 14 to 2008 and I am not to bad, but making the transition into CNC is going very well. I have a Centroid Controller on a Boss 4 and I need some help making my way from Cad to machine, help?

I haven't used bobcad since V18, but in my experience the software was junk. I was constantly trying to find workarounds for the various quirks and glitches in the software, and the support staff was not helpful at all.

Add to that the most annoying sales staff I've ever encountered. (They literally called at least twice a month for over three years and that was after asking numerous times to take me off of their calling list.) I would recommend staying far far away.

Take a look at OneCNC for entry-level CAM software. The software works and they have friendly, helpful people to answer your questions if you have a problem. I have not used their lathe software, but I do use the mill software every day.

You get what you pay for. It will work find for the hobbyist, but for production, I would definitely check into other software.
